Hopkinton, MA About the Role We are looking for a passionate and customer-focused Part-Time Retail Associate to join our team! If you have a passion for fine beverages, artisan foods, and delivering top-tier customer service, this is the perfect role for you. You will assist customers with wine and craft beverage selections, manage our hand-cut cheese counter, and ensure an inviting, knowledgeable retail environment.
Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Sales:
Assist guests in selecting wine, craft beer, liquor, and gourmet food products based on their personal taste preferences and pairings.
Cheese & Gourmet Food Service:
Handle, cut, wrap, and maintain our selection of artisanal hand-cut cheeses and specialty foods following proper hygiene standards.
Store Operations:
Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) register, process transactions, stock shelves, organize displays, and maintain a clean, attractive sales floor.
Inventory & Maintenance:
Monitor stock levels, unpack shipments, rotate inventory, and assist with store setup/closing routines.
Qualifications & Requirements Retail Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a retail or hospitality environment.
Product Knowledge:
Demonstrated knowledge or strong background in wine, artisanal beer, or fine spirits .
Cheese Expertise:
Working knowledge of hand-cut cheese handling, profiles, and gourmet pairings.
Age Requirement:
Must be 18 years of age or older .
Transportation:
Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation/ability to drive.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods and comfortably lift up to 40 lbs (cases of wine/beer).
Communication Skills:
Excellent interpersonal skills with an approachable, helpful demeanor. Preferred Skills Prior experience working in a specialty food shop, wine retail, or cheese counter. Familiarity with retail POS systems.
