Cashier/Sales Associate

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cashier/Sales Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service while efficiently handling transactions. You will play a vital role in maintaining a positive shopping experience, assisting with stock management, and contributing to sales goals. Responsibilities Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently to process customer transactions. Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving any issues that may arise. Assist in upselling products and promoting sales to enhance the customer shopping experience. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring all merchandise is properly stocked and displayed. Collaborate with team members to ensure inventory levels are adequate and assist in restocking as needed. Utilize retail math skills to manage cash handling, including balancing cash drawers at the end of shifts. Supervise junior staff or new hires as necessary, providing training on best practices in customer service and sales techniques. Communicate effectively with customers and team members, fostering a welcoming environment. Qualifications Experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred. Wine knowledge is a plus, but not required. Training will be provided. Interest in learning more about wine, beer and spirits Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse customers. Familiarity with retail math concepts to ensure accurate cash handling and transaction processing. Experience in supervising or training staff is advantageous. A proactive approach to upselling products and driving sales performance.
