We are looking for upbeat and energetic people to come join our passionate and dedicated team of food handlers, baristas, and shift leads. Our counter staff should be interested in coffee and tea, and have a passion for food and service. Our team cares about the community we are in, and are dedicated to creating a welcoming environment through building strong relationships. A team member begins with us in the Counter Staff/ Food Handler position. There is not an open Barista position at this time.

Counter/Food handler includes:

Exceptional customer service through quick and efficient interactions. Basic register operation and cash handling. Comprehensive knowledge of our complete food and beverage menu. Preparation of breakfast and lunch sandwiches, salads, food, and beverage in accordance with our standards. Timely completion of various assigned tasks including cleaning, prep, and opening/closing responsibilities. Using critical thinking skills to face ambiguity with decisiveness. Follow delegation and deployment from shift leads and ownership. Maintaining presentation and cleanliness standards across all aspects of the store. Balancing productivity through both busy and slow times. Display and maintain urgency at all points in the day. Quick and clear communication with team members, management, and ownership. Complete various other tasks and responsibilities as assigned. Our ideal candidate is capable of or has the following: Comfort working directly with ownership and management. Ability to work fast and remain calm in high pressure, high stress situations. Able to work both independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills. Adept critical thinking. Understanding of the realities of food service work and this industry. Open availability. This position is physically demanding and may require the following: Lift ~50lbs overhead. Stand and work on your feet for 6-8 hours. Go between upstairs/downstairs spaces multiple times throughout shift. Use of step ladders to reach items stored high up. Dexterity and consistent use of hands to complete all tasks. Squatting and bending to reach items stored low down. Usage of dangerous equipment including slicers, knives, steam, and chemicals. We are a busy, fast paced cafe and require very high standards. Those that do well here understand how to work quickly and efficiently as part of a team without reducing customer service or quality standards. You will be expected to perform at a high rate throughout the duration of your shift. Both weekend days are required. A three shift minimum is in effect for Part Time. Position starts at $15 per hour. Range listed reflects additional compensation in tips. Tips average between $10-$15 per hour but are subject to change without notice.
