Retail EMBR's Northampton retail location is hiring a Cannabis Retail Associate to join our sales floor team. This role is the face of our store — greeting guests, answering product questions, ringing up sales, and making sure every visit to EMBR feels informed, welcoming, and compliant with Massachusetts cannabis regulations. New team members complete paid training on our menu, POS system, and Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission (CCC) requirements before working independently on the floor.

Room to move into senior associate, shift lead, or management tracks Schedule This is a part-time role with shifts scheduled around store needs. Because the store is open across the entire week, team members should have flexible availability across mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Exact shifts are set based on store traffic and staffing needs. What You'll Do Greet every guest and set a friendly, professional tone from the moment they walk in Ask questions to understand what a customer is looking for and recommend products that fit Share accurate product details in line with Massachusetts CCC regulations — no overselling, no guessing Ring up orders and handle payments correctly through the POS system Check ID and confirm age and purchase-limit compliance on every sale Keep the sales floor tidy, stocked, and visually on-brand Help with receiving, restocking, and basic inventory counts as needed Support store opening/closing routines and general merchandising Follow EMBR policy along with state and local cannabis law Pitch in as part of a team — covering, training, and supporting coworkers What We're Looking For 21 years of age or older (required by Massachusetts law) Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays Consistent, on-time attendance Comfortable talking with a wide range of customers and staying patient under pressure Quick to pick up new systems, product info, and store procedures Cannabis industry experience preferred; retail or hospitality experience also considered Must be able to pass a background check and obtain Massachusetts CCC Marijuana Establishment Agent registration prior to starting About the Role We're looking for someone dependable and approachable who genuinely enjoys helping people — someone who follows procedure carefully, picks things up quickly, and adds a good energy to the team.
