Job Description
About the role Mirror Image Detailing is hiring a Detailing Technician to join our team in Somerset, MA. This is a hands-on role split between our shop and our mobile unit. You'll detail customer vehicles on-site and in the field, perform paint correction and ceramic coating work, and represent the business face-to-face with customers every day. If you are not expecting to work hard, be reliable, on time and dedicated to giving our customers the best experience as possible, do not apply. We maintain a high standard within our company and you will be held to that. Detailing experience is a plus but not required. We can teach you how to detail, correct, and coat a car. What we can't teach is attitude. We're looking for someone who picks things up fast, takes feedback without getting defensive, and knows how to talk to a customer like a professional. What you'll do Perform interior and exterior detailing on customer vehicles to our quality standard Drive the mobile van to customer locations and complete jobs on-site, unsupervised Wash, decontaminate, and prep vehicles, then perform paint correction and apply ceramic coatings Greet customers, walk them through their vehicle at drop-off and pick-up, and answer questions clearly and professionally Safely move customer vehicles on and around the property Keep the shop, van, tools, and equipment clean, stocked, and organized Learn and follow established processes, and improve as you get feedback Who we're looking for Quick learner. You pick up new techniques fast and don't need to be told twice. Coachable. You take direct feedback, apply it, and get better. Professional communicator. You've worked with customers before (retail, hospitality, service, sales, or similar) and you can represent a business well on your own at a customer's home or workplace. Reliable and self-directed. You show up on time and you can be trusted to run a job in the field without someone looking over your shoulder. Attention to detail. You notice what others miss and you care about the finished product. Requirements Valid driver's license and clean driving record (you will drive the company van and operate customer vehicles) Ability to stand, crouch, kneel, bend, and work on your feet outdoors for a full shift in all seasons Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Prior customer-facing experience Legally authorized to work in the United States Pay and growth $18-$25/hour depending on experience Raises tied to skill development in paint correction and ceramic coating Paid training Real advancement: technicians who prove themselves move into management roles with profit sharing, including running their own mobile unit or physical location.
