A Retail Sales Associate sells merchandise or products in a retail store. Provides information about store merchandise, assists customers with finding items and encourages sales.
Approximately five days per week, split between both locations Hidden Greens is hiring a dependable, friendly and hardworking budtender to work at both our Buxton and South Berwick retail locations. This position will generally include two days per week in Buxton and two days per week in South Berwick. The fifth day and primary responsibilities for that day will be determined based on the employee's strengths, performance and the needs of the business. Applicants must have dependable transportation and be willing to commute between both locations, which are approximately 45 minutes apart. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping customers, works well as part of a team and takes pride in being reliable. Our stores have established teams that work closely together, so we need an employee who communicates well, maintains a positive attitude and contributes to a respectful, productive work environment. Dependability is one of the most important requirements for this position. We need someone who arrives on time, consistently works their scheduled shifts and rarely calls out. Cannabis experience is strongly preferred but not required. Applicants without cannabis experience should have extensive retail, hospitality or customer-service experience, along with a willingness to learn about cannabis products, strains, consumption methods and Maine's medical-cannabis regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work scheduled shifts at both the Buxton and South Berwick locations Welcome customers and provide friendly, attentive service Learn the store's products and make thoughtful recommendations based on each customer's preferences Accurately operate the point-of-sale system and handle cash transactions Follow all applicable laws, regulations and company procedures Receive, organize, restock and maintain accurate product inventory Help identify and prevent inventory discrepancies Keep shelves and product displays clean, organized and properly stocked Assist with opening and closing responsibilities Maintain a clean, professional and welcoming retail environment Communicate clearly with coworkers and management at both locations Help other departments when additional support is needed Work longer shifts or additional hours during busy periods when available Complete other tasks needed to support the team and daily operation
QUALIFICATIONS
Extremely dependable, punctual and consistent Willing and able to work at both Hidden Greens locations Dependable transportation and the ability to commute approximately 45 minutes between stores Strong customer-service and communication skills Able to work well with different personalities in a team environment Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed Cannabis knowledge or previous cannabis-industry experience preferred Experience using cannabis point-of-sale systems preferred Retail inventory-management experience preferred Substantial retail, hospitality or customer-service experience considered in place of cannabis experience Comfortable learning a large and frequently changing product selection Able to remain calm, organized and professional during busy periods Strong attention to detail, particularly when handling cash and inventory Willing and able to work weekends, holidays and longer shifts when necessary Able to meet all legal and regulatory requirements for employment in a Maine medical-cannabis establishment
