Position Summary The Assistant Store Director is responsible for supporting the overall daily operation of Market Express while helping create an exceptional experience for our customers and team members. This role partners closely with the Store Director to ensure the store operates efficiently, maintains high standards, and achieves sales, labor, and profitability goals. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who enjoys working alongside the team, solving problems, coaching employees, and ensuring the store is clean, well-stocked, and ready to serve customers every day. Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development Assist in leading and motivating the store team to provide outstanding customer service. Coach, train, and develop employees through regular feedback and accountability. Help recruit, interview, onboard, and train new team members. Lead by example by maintaining a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Step into the Store Director role during absences or vacations. Store Operations Ensure the store is clean, organized, stocked, and operating efficiently at all times. Monitor merchandising, product displays, signage, and promotional execution. Assist with ordering, inventory management, and receiving merchandise. Help minimize shrink through proper inventory controls and operational procedures. Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and health regulations. Financial Performance Support achievement of sales, gross margin, labor, and profitability goals. Monitor labor scheduling and productivity. Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce waste. Assist with cash management, daily reconciliations, and store reporting. Customer Experience Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve customer concerns promptly. Build relationships with regular customers and contribute to a welcoming store environment. Ensure every customer receives fast, friendly, and professional service. Safety & Compliance Maintain a safe working environment for employees and customers. Ensure compliance with all food safety, age-restricted sales, and company policies. Assist with audits, inspections, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Previous retail, grocery, convenience store, or food service leadership experience preferred. Strong leadership and communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer and cash handling skills. Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods. What Success Looks Like A successful
