Store Manager/Assistant Manager Summary:

The Front Counter Associate is responsible for assisting customers at the checkout with their in-store merchandise and outside lumber purchases. Other duties include, but are not limited to; greeting customers, stocking, cleaning and answering the store phone as needed.

Responsibilities:

Greet and assist customers Wait on and ring up customers at the counter Check all customer loads from the lumber yard when ready to check out Promote project sales and merchandise. Assist in the stocking and pricing of merchandise according to operational guidelines Perform routine housekeeping tasks assigned by store managers as required to maintain the professional image and appearance of the store Participate in the completion of quarterly and annual physical inventory counts. Be alert to practices that waste supplies, utilities and time. As part of the Self Serve Lumber Team, you may be asked to attend any company/store functions or events.

Requirements:

Minimum of one or more years of experience in a retail sales position Knowledge of the lumber/hardware industry is a plus, but not required Familiarity with retail sales, merchandising programs and procedures Good people skills and ability to promote sales Good communication skills Work Environment and Physical Requirements Ability to lift up-to 10lbs. frequently and/or up to 50lbs. occasionally Indoor and outdoor customer assistance in inclement weather at times Be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
