Your Day at Lowe's Depending on the position you're interested in and the needs of the store, you may: Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional service Help customers locate products and answer questions Assist customers with checkout, payments, and exchanges Scan and bag merchandise accurately and efficiently Assist customers in self-checkout areas Stock and organize merchandise and replenish shelves Help prepare merchandise based on customer needs Assist with customer orders and deliveries Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas Cross-train and assist in other areas of the store as needed Customer Service Associates may work in departments such as Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services based on store needs and individual skillsets. Key Responsibilities Deliver a fast, friendly, and professional checkout experience Proactively assist customers in the self-checkout area Scan and bag items accurately and efficiently Manage a cash register, payments, and exchanges Answer customer questions Help maintain a clean, safe workstation Complete other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction) Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information Minimally lift 25lbs unassisted or over 25lbs with or without accommodation Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets Preferred Qualifications Retail and/or customer service experience Bilingual skills Lowe's commitment to growth and teamwork extends to the community as well. Travel Requirements This role does not require regular travel; however, this role may need to travel occasionally to meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores. Working Conditions Environmental factors vary by location. You may be working in both inside and outside weather conditions. Exposure to varying climates, including extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions, is possible. You may be exposed to constant or intermittent noises in addition to moving or shaking objects and equipment. Lifting methods vary based on role, weight, and volume. Associates must follow guidelines, limiting single lifts to 75 pounds. Team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed. Powered equipment should be used as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
