This position works closely with retail customers, contractors, and team members to assist with product selection, project planning, estimates, and sales related to design-focused areas such as kitchens, cabinets, countertops, windows, doors, flooring, appliances, and other building and home improvement products. Primary Responsibilities Greet customers and provide knowledgeable, friendly, customer-driven assistance with design-related projects and product selections. Help customers understand available options, features, pricing, and timelines for materials and special-order products. Prepare accurate estimates, quotes, and product orders based on customer needs and project specifications. Work with vendors, installers, contractors, and internal departments to help coordinate product information and order details. Maintain strong product knowledge in assigned categories and stay current on available merchandise, promotions, and processes. Follow up with customers to support a positive sales experience from initial consultation through completion. Perform regular department maintenance, stocking, display upkeep, and general customer service responsibilities. Assist with merchandising, department organization, and maintaining a clean, professional sales area. Work as part of a team and support overall store operations as needed. Qualifications High school diploma preferred. Previous experience in retail sales, design sales, building materials, cabinetry, flooring, windows, doors, appliances, or home improvement is preferred. Knowledge of kitchen and cabinet design is a plus. Appliance knowledge is a plus. Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to read measurements, understand basic project details, and prepare accurate estimates. Comfortable using computers, sales systems, vendor programs, or design-related software as needed. Friendly, outgoing, dependable, and able to work in a fast-paced retail environment. Weekend availability is required; ability to work a varied schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends as business needs require. Compensation and Benefits This is a full time, salaried position with a salary range of $40,000-$45,000 based on experience and qualifications. Benefits are available.
