Store Associate/ Cashier

Job Overview Join our Ace Hardware retail team as a Store Associate and Cashier, where your enthusiasm and dedication will create a welcoming shopping experience for every customer. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service throughout their shopping experience Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges Handle cash, credit card transactions, and other payment methods with precision and integrity Assist with merchandising efforts by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and maintaining product presentation standards Conduct product demos when applicable to educate customers about features and benefits Upsell related products to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities Maintain phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via other communication channels Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and assisting with stocking activities Apply basic math skills for cash handling, pricing adjustments, and retail math calculations Demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively engage with customers and team members Requirements Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required; training will be provided Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is a plus Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening Ability to perform basic math accurately for retail transactions and inventory tasks Supervising experience is advantageous for those interested in growth opportunities within the store team Experience working in a grocery store or similar retail environment is beneficial but not mandatory Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in merchandising and stocking tasks A positive attitude, reliability, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service This role is an excellent stepping stone for anyone eager to build a career in retail while enjoying a lively work environment.
