Overview Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Greet and meet donors warmly accept their donated goods. Communicate pleasantly with donors, while gratefully receiving their donation. Distinguish unsaleable items and graciously decline them as appropriate to situation. Thank customers for their donated goods and offer a tax receipt. Keep accurate and timely records of all donations. Maintain donation center in a safe, organized and clean manner at all times. Keep trash and boxes in appropriate location for reuse and recycling. Job will sometimes require working outside for short periods, so it is essential that a positive and grateful attitude be reflected regardless of weather and conditions. Sort and pack donations between donors. Assist with lifting heavy items up to 50 pounds. Open and close donation center on time to avoid missing any donations. Be responsible and safe in your work environment following CARF and OSHA guidance.

Skills and Experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Basic judgment skills to determine merchandise/donation value. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Able to establish pleasant connections with customers and co-workers. Basic math skills and understanding of cash control procedures.

Promotes and demonstrates ethical practices in all activities. Promotes a safe work environment and follows all CARF requirements. Ability to pass alcohol/drug screenings and criminal background check.

Physical Requirements:

Works in an environment with occasional high stress, with potentially short deadlines. Stands and walks for most of the workday, occasionally sits. Routinely bends, stoops, pulls, pushes, reaches, kneels, twists, turns throughout the day. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds in retail environment; 50 pounds in Donations/ADC/ Aftermarket environment, or the ability to do so safely.
