Overview Yellowstoned Cannabis Co. is looking for friendly, dependable, and outgoing Budtenders to join our team. We want people with bubbly personalities who enjoy talking with customers, learning about cannabis, and creating a welcoming shopping experience. Cannabis knowledge is helpful, but personality, reliability, and willingness to learn are even more important. We can teach product knowledge—we need employees who show up, work hard, treat customers well, and bring positive energy to the store.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet every customer promptly and make them feel welcome Ask questions to understand each customer's needs and preferences Recommend suitable products while staying within Montana cannabis regulations Explain product types, effects, potency, dosing, and responsible use Accurately operate the point-of-sale system and handle cash transactions Verify customer identification and follow all age and entry requirements Follow all state regulations, store policies, and inventory procedures Maintain accurate product information and menu listings Restock displays, organize products, and keep the sales floor clean Assist with online orders, pickup orders, and customer check-in Learn about new products, brands, cannabinoids, and consumption methods Promote specials, loyalty programs, and featured products Upsell products naturally without pressuring customers Help receive, label, organize, and count inventory when needed Answer phone calls and customer questions professionally Protect customer privacy and store information Work as a team during busy periods Complete opening and closing duties as assigned Notify management of inventory discrepancies or compliance concerns Help maintain a safe, clean, professional, and welcoming dispensary
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Friendly, bubbly, and comfortable starting conversations Excellent customer-service and communication skills Positive attitude and strong work ethic Dependable, punctual, and ready to work scheduled shifts Honest, responsible, and highly accountable Patient with new or inexperienced cannabis customers Able to listen carefully and recommend products based on individual needs Willing to continuously learn about cannabis products and regulations Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment Detail-oriented and able to follow compliance procedures exactly Confident handling cash and completing transactions accurately Professional appearance and respectful attitude Team player who is willing to clean, restock, and help wherever needed Sales-minded without being pushy Able to stay productive during slower periods Comfortable receiving coaching and feedback
REQUIREMENTS
Must meet all legal requirements for working in a licensed Montana dispensary Must obtain and maintain any required Montana marijuana worker permit or credentials Reliable transportation to and from work Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to bend, reach, and lift approximately 25-40 pounds Basic computer, tablet, and cash-handling skills Retail, hospitality, sales, or customer-service experience is preferred Cannabis experience is helpful but not required
COMPENSATION AND TIPS
This position pays an hourly wage plus tips. Budtenders have the opportunity to earn additional income by delivering friendly, knowledgeable, and memorable customer service. Tip amounts are not guaranteed and may vary depending on customer traffic, hours worked, and applicable company tip-sharing policies.
