Job Description
Summary:
The UPS Store provides professional customer service and world class shipping, packaging, printing, shredding, notary services, mailbox rentals and much more for our individual consumers and small businesses. The UPS Store Sales Associate is responsible for overseeing daily operations, leading a team, and driving in-store sales through proactive customer engagement. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with experience in sales management and customer relationship-building. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment, takes ownership of results, and is passionate about growing revenue by training and motivating their team to upsell, cross-sell, and deliver exceptional service. This Sales Associate will have the opportunity to move into shift lead and/or management positions.Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage all areas of operations including product sales, pack and ship, ordering, daily open and close activities, training, customer and vendor relationships, print production, print and freight price quotes, compliance audits, claims, end of month reporting, house account billing and other duties as assigned.
- Pro-actively handles customer complaints and assist customers with problems to resolution.
- Perform print production projects using common software applications. (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat, Illustrator)
- Ensure compliance in the areas of Operational Standards and Requirements.
- Assist and communicate with management regarding all areas of store operations.
- Provide excellent customer service in an over-the-counter retail environment.
- Process customer shipments via UPS computer systems.
- Pack customer packages utilizing UPS packaging guidelines and materials.
- Accurately perform daily opening and/or close out procedures in accordance with company policy and procedure.
- Assist customers with copy, print, notary, fax, and all other services.
- Maintain a high level of sanitation, orderliness and professionalism throughout the center through the utilization of leadership by example.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years retail management experience.
- Notary Public
- must be willing to obtain Notary Public within the first 60 days of employment
- Must be able to accommodate for a flexible work schedule
- Ability to use tact and diplomacy to maintain harmonious relationships with customers in person and over the phone.
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written (e.g., email) form.
- Excellent customer service and computer skills.
- Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to complete print production projects using print equipment (training provided) and common software applications. (e.g., Microsoft Word, Publisher, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator)
- Excellent quantitative aptitude — ability to work a cash register and reconcile at end of day.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly. Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- High school diploma; college degree highly preferred (Business Administration, Business Management, or Graphic Design are relatable degrees)
