Job Description
Job Summary We are looking for a knowledgeable and motivated Furniture Sales Associate to join our retail team. In this role, you'll be the go-to person for helping customers find the perfect furniture pieces and creating a welcoming shopping environment. If you enjoy engaging with people, showcasing products, and making sales happen, this position is a great fit for you! A decorating or stylish eye and mind is a positive. We welcome App State designers and students in the ASID program for paid internships and try out your creativeness on the floor layout and furniture design. Responsibilities Assist customers in selecting furniture by providing detailed product information and demonstrations. Maintain attractive and organized merchandise displays through effective merchandising and stocking. Use your upselling skills to recommend additional products or accessories that enhance customer satisfaction. Handle transactions accurately using POS (Point of Sale) systems, including cash handling and cashiering duties. Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, offering product demos, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Keep the sales floor clean, organized, and well-stocked to encourage sales and improve store appearance. Support supervising staff with inventory management and stock replenishment as needed. Qualifications Previous retail sales experience, especially in furniture or grocery store environments, is preferred but not required. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively. Experience with POS systems, cashiering, and basic math for transactions is important. Knowledge of merchandising, product demos, and upselling techniques will help you succeed. Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills are essential for building rapport with shoppers. Supervising experience is beneficial for growth within the team.
