The Role This is a part-time, front-of-house position for someone who loves people, takes pride in their work, and wants to be a dependable part of a team that genuinely cares about what they do. You'll help create the experience our customers have come to expect over 40 years — warm, personal, and memorable. Hours vary by season — busier periods will bring more shifts, slower periods fewer. Shifts run between 9am and 6pm, Monday through Saturday. You must be available during these times. What You'll Do Greet and assist customers with a warm, genuine, and helpful presence Help customers find the right products, make recommendations, and create a great in-store experience Operate the register accurately — handling cash, card transactions, and gift cards with care Assemble gift boxes and custom orders with attention to detail and a thoughtful, attractive presentation Assist with gift wrapping, ribbon work, and decorating — bringing a careful, artistic touch to every order Keep displays and the showroom neat, organized, and visually appealing throughout your shift Assist with restocking, inventory awareness, and flagging when supplies are running low Help maintain a clean, welcoming shop environment at all times Follow shop procedures and standards consistently — doing things the right way, every time Pitch in wherever the shop needs you — we're a small team and flexibility matters What We're Looking For Prior experience in retail, customer service, specialty food, bakery, floral, or a similar environment Experience in chocolate, confectionery, or pastry is a genuine plus — but a love for the craft and a willingness to learn matters just as much An artistic or creative sensibility — a steady hand, an eye for detail, and a natural feel for beautiful presentation are a big plus A warm, natural presence with customers — someone who genuinely enjoys the interaction Punctual, dependable, and trustworthy — someone the team can count on, every shift Comfortable with basic cashiering and POS systems Takes direction well and follows through without needing to be reminded Detail-oriented and takes pride in doing things right Flexible and willing to pitch in wherever needed in a small shop environment Reliable transportation and consistent daytime availability, Monday through Saturday Able to stay on your feet and active throughout your shift Why Chocolate Smiles?
