Overview We're seeking a reliable, customer-focused locksmith to work primarily at our storefront location. In this job you'll assist walk-in customers, cut and program keys of all types, service locks brought into the shop, and help with shop operations. Locksmith Duties Cut and duplicate residential, commercial, vehicle, safe, and specialty keys Rekey, repair, and rebuild pin tumbler locks and padlocks Duplicate and originate automotive keys, including transponder and sidewinder/high-security keys Sell, advise on, and service safes; perform lockouts and openings where applicable Perform quality control checks on all completed work Storefront Duties Greet walk-in customers, assess their needs, and recommend appropriate solutions Provide written quotes and explain pricing clearly Handle phone inquiries, schedule service calls, and process payments Order parts, manage inventory, and maintain a clean, organized storefront Handle incoming mail, packages, and deliveries Qualifications Professional locksmith experience (residential/commercial/automotive) Proficiency in key cutting, lock rekeying, and standard locksmith skills Experience with automotive transponder key programming and diagnostic tools Clean criminal background and valid driver's license Basic proficiency with computers and POS systems Preferred Qualifications Certified locksmith credentials Familiarity with key machine maintenance and calibration Experience in retail or customer-facing roles Working Conditions Primarily indoor facility environment with occasional outdoor exposure May involve some physical exertion (climbing ladders, kneeling, lifting) Standard business hours 8:00am-5:00pm Moderate noise levels typical of an active workplace Compensation & Benefits $18-22/hour, based on experience Ongoing training and certification support About Us San Lee Security has been a trusted provider of locksmith services and alarm systems to Sanford and the surrounding areas for over 30 years.
