About Us/Job Summary:

Hall's Garden Center & Florist, a 48-year-old IGC (Independent Garden Center) is offering a full-time position to join our team. We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated team member to assist in providing excellent customer service. Our family-owned business has been consistently ranked among the TOP 100 garden centers in the United States. Many of our employees have been with us for more than 2 decades. A love of plants, all things horticulture and small business are greatly encouraged. Specific daily responsibilities include merchandising, marketing and maintaining annuals and houseplants. A supportive role and good knowledge of perennials, trees, shrubs and "hard goods" is appreciated and welcome when time permits.

Time Requirement:

This full-time position asks for a 5-day work week. Flexibility to work extended hours during the holidays and as operational needs require is also asked.

Required Duties & Responsibilities:

Uphold a high standard of customer satisfaction by building strong sales and service relationships with customers Product knowledge of annuals and houseplants is paramount; good working knowledge of perennials, trees, shrubs, and "hard goods" is appreciated Maintain and market plant inventory Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to buyer/owner Ensure timely and accurate completion of daily and weekly tasks Uphold store cleanliness standards to ensure all merchandise and visual standards are met Perform daily opening and closing responsibilities when needed

Qualifications & Requirements:

Experience in a retail setting is preferred. Exemplary leadership, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Applicants must be organized and able to multi-task

Physical Requirements:

Majority of work performed will take place on your feet and will include lifting and moving merchandise, sometimes in excess of 40 pounds

Additional Duties Asked/Expected:

Understanding the true nature of the Independent Garden Center industry. Seasonal contributions may be called upon: holiday decorating, seasonal display changes, daily contributions to our other departments, trade show attendance, continuing education, etc.
