Overview We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Plant Nursery Sales Associate to join our garden center team, specializing in the sales of trees, shrubs, and perennials. In this role, you will provide expert guidance to customers, helping them select the best plants for their needs while ensuring an excellent shopping experience. You will also assist in plant care, maintain plant displays, and contribute to the overall success of our nursery. Duties

• Greet customers and assess their gardening needs
• Tractor / front loader driving, nursery jaws, receiving, unloading and moving trees, shrubs, larger nursery stock items
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations on trees, shrubs, and perennials based on customer requirements (e.g., soil, sunlight, space)
• Assist customers with plant care tips, proper planting techniques, and general landscape advice
• Process sales transactions and ensure accurate handling of payments
• Help maintain and organize plant displays to keep them visually appealing and accessible
• Monitor plant health, ensuring proper watering, pruning, and pest management
• Assist in unloading deliveries and restocking inventory as needed
• Keep up-to-date with new plant varieties, gardening trends, and techniques
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers Skills
• Strong sales skills with the ability to upsell and cross-sell products such as soils and fertilizers
• Excellent organizational skills to manage inventory
• Prior experience in garden or outdoor retail sales is advantageous
• Outstanding customer service skills to ensure customer satisfaction

Qualifications:

Passion for plants, gardening, and outdoor landscaping Basic knowledge of trees, shrubs, and perennials, with a willingness to learn more Previous experience in a garden center or plant nursery is a plus Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate plant care information clearly Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to lift and move heavy plants, bags of soil, and other garden products Basic proficiency with point-of-sale systems and general computer skills Friendly, approachable demeanor with a commitment to helping customers find the perfect plants
