We are seeking a reliable, customer-oriented Cashier & Paint Mixer to join our fast-paced hardware and paint store team. In this role, you will be the welcoming face of our store, handling customer transactions, operating our POS system, and accurately custom-tinting architectural paints and coatings. Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Cash Handling:

Greet customers warmly, provide exceptional service, answer product inquiries, and accurately operate the cash register and point-of-sale (POS) system.

Paint Mixing & Tinting:

Operate paint mixing and color-matching machinery to prepare custom Benjamin Moore and architectural coatings to exact customer specifications.

Inventory & Stocking:

Receive freight, stock shelves, restock heavy paint cans, sundries, and hardware, and maintain a clean, organized sales floor.

Warehouse & Physical Support:

Safely lift, carry, and load heavy merchandise—including 5-gallon paint pails and hardware items weighing up to 80 lbs—for customers and store stock.

Store Maintenance:

Assist with general store upkeep, merchandising, and keeping the paint department clean and fully stocked.

Qualifications & Requirements Physical Stamina:

Ability to stand for extended periods and routinely lift, carry, and maneuver items weighing up to 80 lbs safely.

Retail Experience:

Previous experience working as a cashier, retail associate, or in a hardware/paint retail environment is preferred.

Color Accuracy:

Must possess normal color vision and the ability to distinguish subtle color shades for custom tinting.

Communication Skills:

Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, problem-solving attitude when dealing with contractors and retail customers.

Reliability:

Punctual, dependable work ethic with the ability to work flexible store hours.

Pay:

$16.00 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
