Job Description

Catering Sales Associate The Food Architects • Piscataway, NJ • Full-Time About Us The Food Architects is a premier corporate and social catering company serving some of New Jersey's largest institutions. We serve gourmet lunches, breakfasts, and manage full-service events (from 10 to 2,000+ guests!). We're looking for someone organized, personable, and passionate to join our catering sales team. This role would be a hybrid of catering sales and event management as needed. You will support and learn quickly alongside our seasoned catering managers who help sell and lead New Jersey's largest catered events. What You'll Do Manage inbound leads (via phone and email) and guide clients through the ordering process from first contact to event day Prepare client proposals and engage with clients to re-work and confirm orders Coordinate closely with our operations and kitchen teams to ensure orders are communicated accurately and events run smoothly Serve as on-site Event Manager as needed: overseeing logistics and acting as the client's primary point of contact Coordinate outside vendors (linens, desserts, and other partners) and assist with event staffing Pitch in on hands-on operational support during high-volume periods, which can include deliveries and other tasks as business needs require What We're Looking For Great attitude and strong customer service skills Customer-facing confidence: you'll be speaking with clients regularly about catering orders and will be the face of the company on event days Knowledgeable and/or passionate about food (you will be putting together menu's customized to each clients event) Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple clients and deadlines at once Proficiency in emailing and computer savviness Willingness to be hands-on when needed; this isn't a purely desk-based role
Optional:
1-2 years in catering, hospitality, events, or sales Compensation & Benefits $27-$29/hour, eligible for overtime Additional event management pay based on event hours 401(k) with company match PTO / paid sick leave Full-time, 5 days per week While we serve blue-chip customers and manage large events, we have an intimate culture with a team of 20-25 full-time employees.
Pay:
$27.00 - $29.00 per hour
