Optical Sales Associate

Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Optical Sales Associate to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in optical retail, optometry, and customer service, with a passion for helping clients improve their vision and eyewear experience. As an Optical Sales Associate, you will be responsible for assisting customers with eyewear selections, conducting basic eye assessments, and ensuring compliance with health regulation policies while delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist customers in selecting eyewear frames and lenses, providing expert guidance on style, fit, and functionality. Dispense spectacle lenses accurately and perform eyewear fittings, adjustments, and frame modifications. Operate POS systems and cash registers efficiently to process transactions while maintaining accuracy. Maintain detailed medical records and ensure clinical confidentiality policies are strictly followed. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, explaining product features, and promoting retail sales. Collaborate with optometrists to support clinical procedures and laboratory work. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, health regulation policies, and clinic-specific protocols at all times. Requirements Proven retail sales experience within an optical or healthcare setting; prior retail optometry experience is preferred. Knowledge of optometry, optics, medical terminology, and anatomy related to eye health. Laboratory experience with spectacle lens dispensing, eyewear frame adjustment, and optical laboratory procedures. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic medical records and medical coding. Strong understanding of health regulation policies including HIPAA, state healthcare regulations, and clinical confidentiality policies. Experience operating POS systems and cash registers accurately in a retail environment. Basic math skills for measurements, pricing calculations, and inventory management. Ability to perform vital signs assessment and maintain aseptic techniques during clinical procedures. Excellent customer service skills with a professional demeanor; ability to communicate complex medical information clearly. Pay:
$19.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 23.0 per week
