Job Description

JOB FUNCTION
Share responsibility for the store's operation and performance and assist the Store Operator in management responsibilities. Coordinate and direct the overall operations of the store in the absence of the Store Operator.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
1. Minimum educational requirement is a high school education with a college background helpful but not required. 2. Prepare store budgets, labor and projections, personnel issues, scheduling, training, and evaluating employees. 3. Strong background in perishable departments including merchandising, sanitation, and product knowledge. 4. Strong merchandising skills, especially in grocery, dairy, frozen foods, and nonfoods. 5. Strong in customer service and employee relations. 6. Support all Riesbeck's policies and procedures. 7. Willing to accept rotation assignments as determined by the needs of the company. 8. Certified by the National Restaurant Association in Serv Safe.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Utilize discretion and independent judgment to assist in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling store activities and procedures. 2. Contribute to the profitable operation of the store. 3. Coordinate employee scheduling and control labor costs to ensure that they are within budget relative to projected sales and operating results. 4. Assist in controlling inventory levels to minimize overstocks and under stocks, to maximize sales, inventory turns, and a return-on-investment within the established company guidelines. 5. Observe all store rules and company policies. 6. Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and observe company dress regulations. 7. Greet all customers and provide them with prompt and courteous service. 8. Certified by National Restaurant Association in Serv Safe. 9. Observe shift-operating hours at all times as scheduled by management. 10. Familiarity with and the ability to perform all functions of the Store Operator's position. 11. Assist in maintaining the building and equipment in maximum operational condition. 12. Implement a housekeeping program that ensures a clean, safe store. 13. Assist in maintaining a fire and safety program within the store in accordance with company policies. 14. Maintain effective security standards and procedures for all areas within the store. 15. Assist in employee training programs as necessary. 16. Able to communicate effectively. 17. Must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, gross margins, markup, percentages, proportions, ratios, volume, and to apply concepts of basic algebra. 18. Must be able to work long and irregular hours. 19. Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Frequently lift moderate amounts of weight. 20. Perform other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
