Overview Join our dynamic retail team as a Retail Sales Associate, where your enthusiasm and customer-focused mindset will drive the success of our store. In this energetic role, you'll be the friendly face guiding customers through their shopping experience, providing expert advice on our high-quality handmade candies and retail products. Your passion for creating a welcoming shopping experience will shine by packaging, displaying, and keeping a clean and organized store environment. You will create wonderful memories for our customers as you serve ice cream, sundaes, and milkshakes at our historic soda fountain. Whether assisting in-store or supporting our phone-in orders, you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional service that keeps our customers coming back. Duties Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting and purchasing our varied candy and gifting products. Provide expert advice on our chocolates, nut brittles, nuts, other retail candy options, as well as ice cream, to enhance customer satisfaction. Create and serve ice cream desserts, ensure clean counters, and wash dishes using approved sanitary procedures. Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently for sales transactions and cash handling. Maintain organized merchandise displays, stock shelves, and ensure the store is clean and inviting to promote a positive shopping experience. Assist with inventory management through stocking, merchandising, and conducting regular stock checks to ensure product availability. Communicate effectively with customers via phone or in person to answer questions about candy and our products. Demonstrate excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of customer service. Qualifications Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in a small business environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Experience with POS systems, efficient cash handling, retail math, and cashiering procedures required. Experience with digital weight scales, using tare weight, and understanding ounces and pounds is very helpful. Ability to work flexible hours and longer hours leading up to holidays; Saturday is a requirement. Comfortable performing physical tasks such as stocking shelves or moving heavy objects. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure proper merchandising and inventory control.
