Job Description
Print PackagerJob Summary We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Print Packager to join our photo production team. This is an entry-level, seasonal position available on either a full-time or part-time basis . No previous photo lab, printing, or packaging experience is required — we will train the right person. This position is expected to last approximately 3-4 months during our busy production season . For an exceptional employee who demonstrates strong attendance, accuracy, productivity, and a good work ethic, there may be an opportunity to transition into a permanent, full-time position with our company. The primary responsibility is taking stacks of finished photographs and accurately assembling each customer's photo package. For example, if a customer ordered Package A , the packager must make sure that every print and product included in Package A is present, correct, and placed into the proper packaging envelope . Completed envelopes are then organized by teacher, classroom, grade, school, or other designated group , stacked in the correct order, and rubber banded together for delivery. This is the last stop before the finished photographs reach our customer , making accuracy and quality control extremely important. This position requires patience and sustained concentration. You will be seated at a production table for extended periods performing repetitive work that requires continuous attention to detail. The work itself is straightforward and can be learned quickly, but maintaining speed, focus, and accuracy throughout an entire shift can be challenging and is not a good fit for everyone. We are looking for someone who enjoys organized, repetitive work and takes satisfaction in knowing that every order leaving their table is complete, accurate, and ready for the customer. Spanish-speaking and bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. Duties & Responsibilities Assemble individual customer photo packages according to the products and quantities ordered. Match finished photographs and products to the correct customer order and packaging envelope. Verify that all components of each package are included and correct . Identify missing, incorrect, damaged, or poor-quality prints before the order leaves production. Perform a final quality-control inspection of photographs and completed packages. Organize completed envelopes by teacher, classroom, grade, school, team, or other designated group . Stack completed orders in the proper sequence and rubber band groups together for delivery. Maintain accurate order and package sequencing throughout the production process. Keep different jobs, schools, classrooms, and customer orders separated and properly organized. Work efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Follow established packaging procedures and production instructions. Maintain a clean and organized workstation. Communicate missing products, printing errors, or order discrepancies to production staff. Assist with other packaging, sorting, and fulfillment duties as needed. Qualifications No previous experience required — this is an entry-level position. No college degree or specialized education is required. Ability to read basic order information and accurately count, sort, match, and organize photographs. Strong attention to detail is more important than previous work experience or formal education. Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn. Able to maintain concentration while performing repetitive tasks for extended periods of time . Comfortable sitting at a production table for most of the workday. Able to follow straightforward package specifications and production instructions. Organized and able to keep different groups of orders properly separated. Able to work at a steady pace without sacrificing accuracy or quality. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven production environment , particularly during busy school photography seasons. Able to recognize obvious print defects, incorrect photographs, missing items, and packaging errors. Previous packaging, fulfillment, manufacturing, or production experience is helpful but not required . Spanish-speaking and bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. Schedule & Employment Opportunity Full-time or part-time schedules are available. This is initially a seasonal/temporary position expected to last approximately 3-4 months . Candidates who are available throughout the entire busy season are preferred. Outstanding employees may be considered for permanent, full-time employment after the seasonal period. Continued employment will depend on performance, attendance, reliability, productivity, and available positions. What Makes Someone Successful in This Position You do not need printing experience, a college degree, or specialized training to be successful in this job. We can teach you how our packages are assembled and how our production system works. What is much harder to teach is the ability to stay focused, organized, and accurate while performing repetitive work for several hours at a time . A successful Print Packager is someone who can establish a rhythm, remain organized, and continue paying attention to small details even after assembling hundreds of similar orders. Speed is important, but accuracy comes first . Putting the wrong photograph in an envelope, leaving out part of a package, or placing an order in the wrong classroom group can result in the wrong product reaching a customer. Because this is the final quality-control checkpoint before an order leaves our facility , we are looking for someone who takes pride in making sure the job is done correctly. If you are dependable, comfortable with repetitive work, have a good eye for detail, and are willing to learn, we encourage you to apply — even if you have never worked in printing or photo production before. This can also be a great opportunity for someone looking to get their foot in the door . Employees who excel during our busy season may have the opportunity to grow into a permanent position with our company.
