Job Summary:

As a Puppy Adoption Specialist , you are the primary point of contact for families looking to welcome a new puppy into their home. This is a dynamic, high-engagement, performance-driven sales role where success is measured by your ability to build rapport, understand customer needs, connect families with the right pet, and achieve team placement and revenue goals. If you are a driven sales communicator who loves working with people and animals, this role combines consultative selling with a passion for pet care.

Qualifications:

Drive Consultative Sales:

Actively engage with store visitors to understand their lifestyle, preferences, and needs, guiding them toward the ideal puppy match.

Achieve Performance Goals:

Consistently meet or exceed individual and team targets for puppy placements, financing solutions, and essential pet startup products (food, crates, health plans, and accessories). Guide the

Customer Journey:

Walk clients through the entire adoption/purchase process, including presentation, financing options, health warranties, and introductory care instructions.

Proactive Follow-Up:

Maintain a client pipeline by following up with leads via phone, email, and text to drive store visits and repeat engagement.

Maintain High Animal Care & Presentation Standards:

Keep puppy habitats clean, presentable, and welcoming to ensure an exceptional customer experience.

Product & Health Education:

Continuously expand your knowledge of dog breeds, temperaments, care requirements, and store health warranties to address client questions confidently.

Qualifications & Skills Proven Sales Track Record:

1+ years of experience in retail sales, commission sales, customer service, or hospitality preferred.

Target-Driven Mindset:

High comfort level working with performance metrics, sales targets, and goal-oriented incentives.

Strong Communication Skills:

Ability to build immediate trust, overcome customer hesitation, and present value clearly. Passion for

Comfortable handling and caring for young puppies throughout the day.

Flexibility:

Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and peak retail hours. Previous experience in retail sales or pet care (preferred) Passion for animals and knowledge of dog breeds, behavior, and care Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours Strong attention to detail and organization Ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform light cleaning duties
