Longwood Gardens is seeking a part-time Garden Shop Retail Lead to assist in overseeing the daily operation of The Garden Shop.
Responsibilities include:
Opening and reconciling register tills, cash handling, conduct training, and floor supervision shifts Maintaining visual presentations of the Shop, and support daily tasks such as cleaning, store recovery/replenishment, plant care, and merchandise placement Resolving guest issues in a timely manner providing informed guidance and support Assisting in monitoring plant health to ensure maximum quality Willingness to learn plant nomenclature, cultural requirements, and identifying and addressing insect and disease issues Performing all duties of a retail associate The schedule varies and requires working a minimum average of 20 hours per week including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
The ideal candidate will possess:
A minimum of one-year experience working in retail sales Exceptional customer service, communication, and hospitality skills General plant knowledge is a plus, but not required Thea ability to stand for long periods of time, lifting of up to 40 pounds, and occasionally working in outdoor area Longwood Gardens is committed to nurturing a diverse and inclusive environment that celebrates the complexities and differences of all living things.
