Job Description

Overview The Demant Group Services Payroll Lead will be part of the Human Resources Shared Services team and responsible for leading the Payroll Administrators in the areas of escalations, approvals, and day-to-day payroll related inquiries across multiple business units. The role will also partner with the Payroll Tax Lead. This position is a highly visible role that supports multiple stakeholders and will require strong organization, collaboration, and excellent customer services skills. This position will be based out of the Company Headquarters, located in Somerset, NJ on a hybrid schedule. Responsibilities Provide training, development, and coaching to the Payroll Administrators and serving as a subject matter expert and point of contact for escalations and ad hoc requests that arise from the business. Partner with the business and respective HR Business Partners and to ensure any changes in business policies with respect to pay, such as overtime, paid time off, and holidays, are appropriately updated and configured in ADP and compliant with any state/local requirements. Partner with HR Business partners to consider implications of business unit activities and payroll needs and determine the appropriate course of action on operational, processing or subject matter issues or situations. Manage the "applied for" registration process for local tax jurisdiction across multiple FEIN's. Manage & validate adjustment payrolls process & out of sequence payrolls. Provide support to the Payroll Tax Lead for the quarterly and annual Wage and Tax Register review and reconciliation for multiple FEIN's. Manage and execute various operational tasks to ensure interfaces are functioning properly. This will include the daily review of the ADP data bridge; the entry and maintenance as needed of new hires and/or employee changes in the system; troubleshooting data discrepancies that impact pay and identify solutions in partnership with the local HRIS team. Create and maintain documentation of controls and SOP's on payroll and facilitate relevant training to ensure compliance with payroll processes and regulations. Assist Finance with reconciling monthly payroll related items posted on the general ledger. Lead project initiatives such as process review and requirements for system enhancements and solutions. Advocate for the employee experience and provide superior customer service, including communication and education on how and when to use self-service tools. May perform miscellaneous tasks/projects as directed by Payroll Director. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or 5+ years payroll experience Minimum 5-7 years' experience in a multi-state environment using ADP product for 1,000+ employees Extensive Experience with ADP Workforce Now 1-2 years of supervisory experience a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word Knowledge of federal, state and local employment and payroll laws Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and ability to work independently or in a team environment Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, time-sensitivity and follow-through continually expected Work involves highly confidential and sensitive information; discretion is essential The pay for this position is expected to be between $85,000 and $100,000; however, while the salary range is effective as of the date of this posting, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including but not limited to experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
