Mews Tavern, Wakefield, RI Job Summary The Doorman manages entry to the venue, verifying guest identification and age where required, monitoring capacity, and helping maintain a safe, welcoming environment for guests and staff. Key Responsibilities Greet guests at the entrance and check identification to verify age requirements where alcohol service applies Monitor and manage venue capacity in accordance with occupancy limits and company policy Maintain waitlists or line management during peak periods, communicating wait times to guests Observe guest behavior and intervene calmly and professionally to de-escalate conflicts or address policy violations Coordinate with management and staff regarding capacity, safety concerns, or guest issues Enforce venue policies (dress code, age restrictions, outside items) consistently and courteously Maintain a visible, professional presence at the entrance throughout the shift Report incidents, safety concerns, or maintenance issues to management promptly Qualifications Prior door, security, or customer service experience preferred Strong judgment and ability to remain calm under pressure Excellent communication and conflict de-escalation skills Must meet the minimum legal age applicable to the role under state law Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed Physical Requirements Ability to stand for an entire shift, often outdoors or near entryways Ability to walk, bend, and move quickly if needed to respond to situations Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs

Pay:

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 10.0 - 25.0 per week
