Retail Receiving Associate We are seeking a friendly, diligent and customer service-oriented associate for a part-time (21-28 hours) position

• Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays are required.

The Jonnycake Center of Westerly has over 7,000 sq. ft. of treasures to explore and thousands of items moving on and off the sales floor each day. The Thrift Store was created to help fund our Food Pantry and Community Resources Departments and provides a positive, respectful, and enjoyable work environment. Tasks will include receiving and sorting donations, moving and loading furniture, light housekeeping, assisting other employees, donors, volunteers, and customers. Candidate may also ride along on truck deliveries and pick-ups.

Required:

• Thursday, Friday and Saturday availability required (Monday availability a plus).
• Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance with a history of tenacious reliability
• Ability to follow directions and work independently within parameters of instructions/duties
• Ability to communicate with staff, donors, and customers in a professional and courteous manner
• Ability to lift heavy loads (50 pounds) repeatedly over the course of the day, at times carrying up and down stairs, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds, with assistance, on occasion
• Ability to work outdoors in all conditions for short time periods
• Ability to work cooperatively with others as part of a team
• Ability to remain flexible and positive in a rapidly-changing environment
• Smart decision-making skills
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test
• High School Diploma, GED, or comparable life experience
• Drug free Desired There is possibility for the right candidate to be able to train as a back-up driver for our box truck.

This candidate will hold a valid driver's license, clean driving record for the last 3 years, be at least 21 years old, and have had no major motor vehicle violations in the last 5 years. The back-up driver would receive a shift premium. Driver candidates may also need a driver's medical certification (if needed, at company expense).
