Job Summary We are a locally-owned convenience store specializing in beer, wine, & liquor. We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Store Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and a keen eye for detail. As a Store Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining the store's appearance, assisting customers with their shopping needs, ensuring smooth operations at the checkout, participating in inventory checks, and closing the stores a couple days each week. Your role will be vital in creating a welcoming environment that encourages repeat business. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and assist them with inquiries regarding products and recommendations. Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for cash handling and card transactions. Adhere to state age requirements (21 years+), request identification from customers as appropriate. Stock shelves with merchandise, ensuring products are organized and displayed attractively. Upsell products by suggesting complementary items during customer interactions. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store, including checkout areas and bathrooms. Participate in keeping an accurate inventory count. Handle phone calls professionally, providing information or directing calls as necessary. Recover / pull forward merchandise throughout the shift. Collaborate with team members to ensure optimal store operations and customer satisfaction. Follow the closing checklist when closing the stores. Environmental Job Conditions Most of the time is spent moving about on LVT flooring. Frequently requires bending, handling, pulling, reaching, and/or stooping to examine or scan merchandise. Qualifications Must be 21 years of age. Previous experience in a convenience store or retail environment is preferred but not required. Strong cash handling skills with experience using POS systems is an asset. Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills, both verbal and written. Experience in upselling techniques is a plus, enhancing overall sales performance. Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A positive attitude and commitment to providing exceptional customer service are essential. Hours Monday
