We are looking for a passionate pet lover to join our team as Retail Sales Associate. The primary goal of this position is to provide excellent customer service and memorable shopping experiences. Candidates with strong communication skills who can make customers feel welcome in our store will stand out. You will help identify client needs, present and answer questions about our products and services, and recommend solutions. A positive attitude and a desire to exceed customer expectations will make you successful in this role. Ultimately, you will ensure that customers leave our store fully satisfied and you will contribute to the store's profitability. The ideal candidate for this role will have a fundamental knowledge of general pet care and nutrition. Responsibilities Makes personal connections with customers by making eye contact, smiling and greeting them in a courteous and friendly manner. Develops solutions for customers by listening to their needs and recommending the appropriate products. Inspires customers and celebrates their purchases, creating a lasting, positive impression for both stores. Maintains selling floor presentations and restocks items as needed. Effectively uses store systems and adheres to inventory control and store operating procedures. Maintains a professional attitude with sincerity and enthusiasm reflecting our commitment to our customers. Maintains in-depth product knowledge and awareness of promotional events to inform our customers. Maintains good housekeeping standards and helps ensure a safe shopping environment for everyone. Demonstrates integrity and honesty. Safeguards merchandise, information and cash. Performs other duties as assigned to support store operations.

Skills Education/Experience:

Previous retail experience preferred.

Communication Skills:

Ability to communicate expertly with customers and coworkers in-person, over the telephone, in writing, and through social media content. Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.

Basic Mathematical Skills:

Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to use a calculator to calculate percentages and ratios. Must be able to accurately make change in cash.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to multi-task, while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business. Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision.

Physical Demands:

This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least four consecutive hours. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Involves lifting up to 50 pounds and being able to stand for extended periods of time.

Customer Service Driven:

Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic with a genuine love of pets (Cats/Dogs). Must have a desire to provide outstanding service.

Availability, Flexibility and Dependability:

Available to work a variety of hours. Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality. Weekends and certain holidays are a requirement for this position.
