Job Description
Overview The Assistant Golf Professional supports the Director of Golf in overseeing all aspects of daily golf operations, ensuring smooth execution across guest services, staff management, instruction, merchandising, and event coordination. This role is dedicated to delivering an exceptional member and guest experience while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, efficiency, and hospitality at WindRiver. Experience Required High School diploma (preferred). Currently holds, or is in the process of completing, all requirements necessary for PGA Membership (preferred). Must be at least 18 years old (required). Must have a valid TN driver's license (required). Essential Responsibilities Leadership & Operations Management Provide oversight of golf operations in the absence of the Director of Golf, ensuring smooth day-to-day management and continuity of service. Supervise and manage Golf and Beverage Cart Attendants to maintain consistent service standards and professional conduct. Schedule, train, and support golf shop personnel and Cart Attendants to ensure adequate staffing and high performance. Manage all aspects of the golf operation efficiently, including staffing, tee times, guest flow, and coordination with maintenance and food & beverage teams. Oversee and verify all opening and closing routines for golf operations, ensuring security, readiness, and compliance with WindRiver policies. Monitor and maintain supply inventory, tracking usage and communicating needs promptly to avoid shortages. Perform additional operational or administrative duties as assigned to support overall business success. Guest Experience & Service Excellence Greet all customers warmly and professionally in accordance with WindRiver's standards of hospitality. Deliver exceptional guest service by assisting members and visitors with inquiries, tee times, course information, and club amenities. Regularly circulate around the course to check on players, address concerns, and monitor pace of play to ensure an enjoyable experience for all golfers. Oversee check-in and fee collection processes for members and guests, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all transactions. Stay informed on all club programs, activities, and promotions, and proactively share information to encourage member engagement and participation. Instruction, Merchandising & Event Coordination Provide professional golf instruction and clinics that align with WindRiver's instructional standards and enhance the member experience. Assist in merchandising the Pro Shop, including buying, pricing, displaying, and maintaining inventory to meet member demand and drive sales. Manage golf tournaments as directed by the Director of Golf, coordinating logistics, registration, and event execution for a seamless experience. Support golf shop personnel in the setup of tournament carts, range operations, and other event preparations to ensure organization and timeliness.
