TL Floor & Design is a growing, locally owned flooring showroom based in Gainesville, Texas. We're hiring a Part-Time Showroom Assistant to be the welcoming face of our business and help customers through the flooring selection and purchasing process. This is a long-term position with growth potential, ideal for someone who is personable, detail-oriented, and excited to be part of a small business. Opportunity to become a full time employee. The right candidate will be confident working with customers, managing multiple tasks, and supporting day-to-day showroom operations. No flooring experience is necessary — we'll train the right person!

Responsibilities:

Greet and assist walk-in customers in the showroom Help customers select flooring samples and follow up on orders Write estimates, send invoices, and prepare purchase orders Communicate with vendors, installers, and clients to keep projects on track Follow up with clients on samples and project progress Reach out to builders, designers, and installers to introduce our services and build relationships Assist with general showroom organization and operations

Qualifications & Experience:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills Highly organized with strong attention to detail Comfortable working independently and managing multiple tasks Willing to learn new systems and product knowledge Interest in design is a plus, but not required Sales experience is a plus, but not required Professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for a client facing retail environment Looking for long-term employment with opportunities to grow within the company

Schedule:

Part-time:

25-30 hours per week

• Work Tuesday-Friday, 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM and 12:00 to 5:00 PM
• Work two Saturdays per month, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM (If you work a Saturday, you'll have the option to be off Friday or work more than 20 hours)
• Some flexibility is available for the right candidate

Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years old to apply. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs minimum. Must be able to drive a forklift (training and certificate will be provided).

Compensation:

• $16-18/hour during training (first 90 days), based on experience.
• $19/hour after 3 months with 1% commission
• $20/hour after 6 months with 3% commission
