Galveston Fishing Company is a full-service fly fishing shop that is strives to be the voice of Fly Fishing in our community. Located on beautiful Galveston Island in Texas we are the only fly shop on the island. Though we specialize in saltwater fly fishing, we offer knowledge, gear, and service for all aspects of fly fishing and the fishing community. We carry and work with all the top of the lines brands in our industry. Galveston Fishing Company is also very involved in education offering fly tying classes, casting classes, and setting up guided trips with our guide partners. Galveston Fishing Company is also very involved in the community hosting charity events, parties, and community industry events. If you are passionate about fly fishing, helping people, and the idea of having world class sight fishing for redfish out your backdoor this might be the perfect fit for you.

Requirements:

• Actively involved and passionate about fly fishing
• Desire to help people
• Willingness to engage with both the fly fishing and the local non-angling community
• Independently Motived and a self-starter
• Ability to process orders through our register and work within of sales platform Shopify
• Ability to do stock takes. As well as stock and merchandise new inventory
• Good communicator with customers and the rest of the staff
• High School Degree or higher

Job Duties:

• Engage with customers and guide them through education and gear selection
• Skilled communicator
• Technical proficiency with fly fishing equipment to include lining reels, cleaning reels, helping customers with rod, reel, and line selection, guiding customers in technical clothing selections
• Assist with classes on fly tying, casting, intro to fly fishing
