As a Cashier/Sales associate, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service while efficiently handling transactions. Your ability to communicate effectively and maintain a positive attitude will contribute to an enjoyable shopping experience for our customers. Specific Responsibilities Manage Various transactions with customers using cash registers. Checking ID by enforcing all liquor and tobacco laws; following all company policies and procedures, including health, safety, and security. Scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate Collect payments whether in cash or credit Cross-sell products and introduce new ones Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information Greet customers when entering or leaving the store Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas Arranges and rotates all merchandise on shelves and inside the main cooler Stocks coolers/freezers (e.g. Beer, Soda, etc) and sets up displays (e.g. price tags/signage). Stocking may involve carrying large quantities of beer, liquor, wine, and other grocery items. This will require lifting/carrying merchandise that weighs up to 50 pounds. Ensures all pricing, signage, and display information is correct at all times in-store. Regular store maintenance such as Sanitizing, Cleaning, Sweeping, and Moping as needed. Requirements Must be at least 21 years of age Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred. Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers. Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately. Familiarity with POS systems is advantageous. Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse customers. Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated. A willingness to learn about products and services offered in the store.
