We're looking for a fashion-savvy, self-motivated individual to join our team here at Hill Country Community Ministries Thrift Store! As a part-time back-end store associate you would be predominantly working behind the scenes assisting our clothing department with all the in's-and-outs of processing donated clothing items and getting them ready for the sales floor. When not working the clothing department other duties would include (but not be limited to) helping bring in donations as they arrive, working other areas of our back-end as choke points develop, assisting with moving stock to the sales floor, and more besides. Responsibilities:
Ø Primarily working with the store management team to process donations of adults and children's clothing. This would include ensuring quality control best practices are adhered to, that items are hung and tagged correctly, and eventually pricing as needed. Ø Working with volunteers and passing on your knowledge of quality control and tagging best practices to ensure only a high quality of product makes it to the sales floor. Ø Working with the management and volunteer team to help clear 'choke points' as they arise in the back-end. Ø Assisting with donation in-take as required. Ø Helping to ensure general health and safety standards are maintained in the back-end. Ø Assisting with stock movement from the back end to the sales floor as required and instructing volunteers on best practices therein. Ø Assisting customers with enquiries when on the sales floor or helping donations in-take and answering customer enquiries over the phone. Ø Being flexible in your schedule to assist with both store opening and/or closing as needed. Ø Other duties as assigned by the management team.
Qualifications:
Ø Previous thrift store or general retail experience is desirable but not necessary as full training will be provided. Ø High School diploma or equivalent. Ø Basic mathematics & IT skills. Ø Bilingual speakers (specifically Spanish) desirable. Conversation English skills a must. Ø Must be able to lift upwards of 30 lbs. regularly & be comfortable being on your feet for upwards of eight hours as necessary. Ø Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to integrate into a dynamic pre-existing team. Ø Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Ø Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a friendly and professional manner when faced with strong personalities. Ø Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ø Be a creative problem solver and able to work to deadlines as laid out by the management team. Ø Be available to work a flexible schedule with some Saturday shifts as required.
