About Brook Mays Music Founded in 1901, Brook Mays Music is a family-owned business operating 13 retail locations across Texas and servicing over 25,000 rental accounts. We specialize in the sales, rental, and repair of band and orchestral instruments. We are currently in a growth phase and looking for team-oriented associates ready to grow with us—we actively promote from within to salaried management positions.
What You'll Do Customer Care & Sales:
Assist walk-in store customers, answer phone and email inquiries, sell/rent instruments, and process repair check-ins.
Store & Rental Maintenance:
Help with store merchandising, stocking, cleaning, organizing, and preparing rental returns for new customers.
E-Commerce & Clerical Support:
Utilize seller platforms, log customer inquiries, follow up on orders, and perform general administrative tasks. Qualifications Instrument Knowledge (Required): Basic knowledge of band and orchestral instruments (prior participation in a school band or orchestra program easily satisfies this requirement).
Work Experience:
2+ years of experience selling and customer service. High school diploma or equivalent required.
Key Skills:
Strong typing abilities, solid communication (oral and written), problem-solving skills, and basic computer proficiency.
Bilingual:
Spanish fluency is a strong plus!
Compensation Pay:
$10.00/hour + commission to start. Performance-based career path testing allows earnings to ramp up to $14.00/hour + commission within the first 3 months.
