Job description Seasonal Tasting Room Experience Associate Waterbury, Vermont | Part-Time Seasonal | $20/hour + Tips Smugglers' Notch Distillery is looking for an outgoing, dependable Seasonal Tasting Room Experience Associate to join our Waterbury team during Vermont's busy fall foliage season. Fall is one of our busiest times of year, bringing visitors from around the country into our tasting rooms. We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys meeting people, providing an exceptional customer experience, and helping guests discover — and purchase — our award-winning Vermont spirits and barrel-aged maple syrups. The Position As a Seasonal Tasting Room Sales Associate, you will be one of the faces of Smugglers' Notch Distillery. You'll welcome visitors, conduct tastings, tell our story, explain our products, make recommendations, and help turn a great tasting experience into a sale. You'll also help keep the tasting room stocked, organized, clean, and ready for the next group of guests. This position is a good fit for someone who is energetic, confident talking with customers, comfortable selling, and able to stay engaged during busy periods. Seasonal Schedule We are specifically hiring for 11:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Please include your availability for these dates when applying. What You'll Do Welcome and engage every guest in a friendly and professional manner. Conduct tastings and create an informative, enjoyable customer experience. Educate visitors about Smugglers' Notch Distillery, our story, our production methods, and our products. Recommend products based on individual customer preferences. Actively sell spirits, maple products, merchandise, and other tasting room products. Operate the point-of-sale system and accurately process transactions. Merchandise and restock products throughout the day. Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-organized tasting room. Follow tasting room Standard Operating Procedures and company policies. Maintain required sales, tasting, inventory, and operational records. Assist with opening, closing, and other daily tasting room responsibilities. Represent the Smugglers' Notch Distillery brand professionally at all times. Perform other duties as needed to support the tasting room team. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who isn't afraid to start a conversation with a customer and who understands that providing a great experience and generating sales go hand in hand. Qualifications Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable engaging with new people. Strong customer-service skills. Confident recommending products and asking for the sale. Dependable and punctual. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Organized and detail-oriented. Able to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment. Comfortable learning and confidently discussing our products and company story. Experience operating a POS system preferred. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Must meet all applicable requirements for serving and selling alcoholic beverages.
