Retail Associate - Bigfoot's Gems Bigfoot's Gems is looking for a dependable, personable, and motivated Retail Associate to join our team! We are a unique local retail business looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in their work, and isn't afraid to jump in wherever needed. This is a hands-on position that combines customer service, retail sales, stocking, organization, and product production. Our ideal team member is friendly, trustworthy, conscientious, able to work independently, and brings a positive can-do attitude to work. This position will initially be primarily on-call and based on store coverage needs , with Saturdays required . There is potential for the position to grow into more consistent scheduled hours as the business grows. What You'll Do As a Retail Associate, your day may include a variety of responsibilities, including: Greeting customers and creating a friendly, welcoming shopping experience Providing excellent customer service and communicating confidently with customers Operating the cash register/POS system and accurately processing transactions Answering questions and helping customers find products Stocking, pricing, organizing, and displaying merchandise Keeping the store, counters, displays, and work areas clean and organized Receiving and putting away merchandise and supplies Producing and assembling products for the store Beading and making bracelets Packaging, labeling, and preparing products for sale Performing repetitive, detail-oriented handwork and fine-motor tasks for extended periods Lifting, moving, and carrying merchandise, boxes, and supplies weighing 30+ pounds Helping with other day-to-day store needs as they arise Because we are a small business, flexibility is important. Some days may be primarily customer service and register work, while others may involve stocking, organizing, or spending extended periods assembling products. Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who: Is 18 years of age or older Is available to work Saturdays Is personable, approachable, and comfortable interacting with customers Has excellent communication and customer service skills Is trustworthy, dependable, and responsible Can work independently without constant supervision Is conscientious and pays attention to details Has a positive, flexible, can-do attitude Is willing to learn and take on different responsibilities Can follow instructions and maintain consistent product quality Has the manual dexterity and fine-motor ability needed for beading, bracelet making, packaging, and other detailed product-production tasks Can lift and carry 30+ pounds Can stand for extended periods of time Can also sit and perform detailed production work for extended periods of time Has reliable transportation to and from work Has flexibility to help provide store coverage, sometimes with varying hours Applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Schedule This position is currently designed as an on-call/flexible Retail Associate position, with Saturdays required . Additional hours may vary depending on store coverage, staffing needs, workload, and business volume. We are looking for someone with enough schedule flexibility to help cover shifts when needed.
