THE ROLE
The Bakery/Coffee Shop Assistant Team Leader plays a key role in leading Bakery and Coffee Department operations, developing team members, and ensuring consistent execution of guest service, quality, safety, and department standards. In our fast-paced environment, this position provides hands-on leadership and coaching while ensuring effective execution of product preparation, stocking, cleaning, merchandising, and other department priorities. Strong leadership, organization, sense of urgency, and attention to detail are essential. MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'D DO
Oversee daily department operations, ensuring team members consistently uphold guest service, quality, safety, and department standards. Provide ongoing training, coaching, and direction to support effective execution and team member development. Partner with the Bakery/Coffee Shop Team Leader on ordering and inventory management, maintaining appropriate inventory levels to support strong merchandising, product availability, and sales. Works with Bakery/Coffee Shop Team Leader to manage sales, gross profit, labor, and supply budgets, monitoring performance and adjusting department execution as needed. Provide outstanding guest service, adapting approach to meet individual guest needs and build rapport through personalized service. Prepare handcrafted coffee and tea beverages with consistency, quality, and attention to detail. Ensure products are packaged, labeled, and merchandised in accordance with quality, presentation, and department standards. Ensure outdated products are removed from the sales floor daily and proper product rotation is consistently maintained. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe department, ensuring team members consistently follow established safety standards. Lead and supports effective execution of product promotions and focuses. Participate in monthly inventory, supporting accurate product counts and effective department organization.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Two years of bakery/coffee or food service experience required. One year of supervisory experience preferred. Exceptional customer service skills. A high level of self-motivation and initiative. Ability to problem solve and have proven success working in a diverse team environment. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Curiosity and a desire to learn. Ability to work a flexible schedule based upon business needs, including nights and weekends.
