Position Overview:
The Retail Sales Associate provides exceptional customer service while supporting the daily operations of Bella's Voice thrift stores. This position is responsible for creating a welcoming shopping experience, operating the point-of-sale system, maintaining an attractive sales floor, stocking merchandise, and advancing Bella's Voice's mission through every customer interaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service. Assist customers with locating merchandise and answering questions. Promote Bella's Voice's mission during customer interactions. Resolve routine customer concerns or refer them to a supervisor. Accurately operate the point-of-sale system. Process cash, credit card, and other transactions. Balance cash drawer and follow cash handling procedures. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area. Stock merchandise and recover sales floor displays. Maintain clean, organized, and attractive merchandise presentations. Assist with seasonal displays and promotional merchandise. Assist with accepting donations. Transport merchandise to the sales floor. Support pricing, tagging, and merchandising activities. Work collaboratively with coworkers, volunteers, and supervisors. Participate in meetings and training. Perform additional duties as assigned. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Follow safety procedures and report hazards. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Customer service or retail experience preferred but not required. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Preferred Qualifications Retail, thrift, or nonprofit experience. Cashiering experience. Passion for animal welfare and community service.
