Job Description

About us Second Chances Thrift Store in River Falls, WI, is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time Retail Associate to work 2-3 days per week (approximately 21 hours per week). Shifts are Monday
  • Friday between 9:45 AM
  • 6:30 PM; and Saturdays between 9:45
  • 5:30 PM.
This position will work 2-3 weekday shifts per week and every other Saturday. The Retail Associate is responsible for creating and maintaining a positive sales environment in Second Chances. This role builds relationships with customers, assists with daily, weekly, and monthly store responsibilities and goals, provides excellent customer service, and supports the overall mission of Turningpoint. In addition, the Retail Associate is responsible for unloading, lifting, and sorting donations, creating merchandise displays, giving customers top notch attention and service, operating a cash register, and ensuring the store is always clean and presentable. This is a fun and rewarding part-time position in our local community. Turningpoint is an Equal Opportunity Employer Qualifications Strong customer service and communication skills Experience in retail sales and cash handling Proficient in basic math and retail math Ability to operate a cash register and POS systems Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Knowledge of stocking and merchandising techniques Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply Second Chances Thrift Store is a program of Turningpoint for Victims of Domestic and Sexual Violence, a tax-exempt nonprofit organization that provides support and resources to individuals and families to achieve freedom from domestic violence and sexual assault. Turningpoint provides services in Pierce and St. Croix Counties of Wisconsin and the surrounding area. Donations to Second Chances Thrift Store are tax deductible, and all proceeds from retail sales support Turningpoint services.
