Summary:

The Resale Store Assistant collaborates closely with the Resale Store Lead and the Director of Business Development to identify, develop, and implement innovative sales/management strategies that drive store success, including leveraging eBay and promoting special sales events. All Associates shall oversee and achieve the best possible return on donated goods, with the assistance of volunteers. The Resale Store staff work with the Volunteer Coordinator to facilitate volunteer training that aligns with the Sunshine Resources Mission, goals, and objectives. This position demands service skills, including sales, inventory control, time management, communication, promotion, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work with people of all ages and abilities. This position actively works to enhance the organization's mission, vision, values, and goals by assisting the CEO, Human Resource Manager, and Directors, ensuring a value-based, employee-oriented, collaborative, high-performance team culture focused on innovative client solutions.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

Duties may be modified or additional duties assigned.

• Maintain the sales floor using seasonal displays; ensure inventory is organized and is presented to ensure a pleasant shopping experience and to make the most of potential sales.
• Provide daily accounting of sales and reconcile the cash register as per established procedures.
• Assist with inventory between the Sunshine Resources location and the Resale Store.
• Provide excellent customer service, build relationships with potential customers, volunteers, clients, and the community. Respond to customer/volunteer needs promptly and professionally.
• Assist Job Coaches in supporting clients' job training in a calm, caring, patient, and professional manner.
• Assist volunteers to feel welcome and have appropriate training; Train volunteers as needed.
• Participate in special events, training, and meetings as needed.

Mechanical or Technical Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience:

Willingness to do a quality job with attention to detail, efficiency, and a high level of accuracy. Effective collaboration with people at all levels of responsibility, including clients, staff, volunteers, and community members. Able to work independently and respond to a variety of situations calmly and professionally. At least 1 year of experience in a retail setting or sales. Some experience supervising other employees/volunteers and working with people with disabilities preferred. High School Diploma or Equivalency. Must be able to use computers, the internet, and a digital camera.

• Maintains all safety protocols and ensures the client area is clean and sanitized per policy and procedure.
