Job Description

Saint Vincent de Paul in West Bend is in search of a candidate whose position will be in donations, cashiering, and/or merchandising, full or part-time, available. Must be available evenings and weekends. Cashiering expertise preferred, but we are willing to train the right person. General Information The St. Vincent de Paul Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting individuals and families in need. Our thrift stores play a critical role in funding local assistance programs, while also providing affordable goods and direct support to the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet and assist customers in a friendly and respectful manner Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately Provide receipts for all transactions Answer customer questions and phone inquiries Support donation intake and provide receipts upon request Maintain a clean, safe, and organized sales floor and dock area Assist with merchandising, stocking, fitting rooms, and displays Prepare and stock concession items Thank customers for supporting the mission Follow all company policies and procedures Perform additional duties as assigned Quickly assist customers Must have a positive attitude Keep dock area neat, clean, and organized Follow company guidelines, per the employee handbook Performs all other assigned duties Knowledge, skills and abilities: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred not required for High school students Be a role model in promoting the SVdP mission, values, and standards Display good leadership and communication skills Excellent in problem solving and a good motivator Excellent organizational skills Ability to make good decisions Good Customer Service Skills Ability to multitask and work independently Ability to follow directions
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to stand, bend, twist, and move for extended periods Ability to use ladders and stairs safely
