A Department Manager manages a department in a large retail store. Reviews and monitors merchandise sales, inventory and prices, and directs advertising and promotions. Supervises sales, warehouse, cleaning, maintenance and security staff and prepares work schedules. Responsible for resolving customer complaints.
The employee will possess exceptional leadership, entrepreneurial, and organizational skills to successfully aid in the operation of a school site, through instructional leadership, parent communication, staff management, and effective administration.
Position Summary:
The Discovery Site Supervisor is responsible for promoting Discovery's mission and core values. The Site Supervisor in managing operational and administrative tasks required to run a specific school location efficiently and adhere to the Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) standards. The Site Supervisor provides leadership to the Discovery instructors and handles administrative tasks such as parent communication, staff communication, student management, etc. The Site Supervisor joins the Instructors to provide instruction to students when no additional administrative tasks are to be completed. In addition to providing administrative, and instructional support, the Site Supervisor is involved with training, coaching, and developing the instructors to achieve top performance in their roles.
Role:
Manage all aspects of Discovery operations at the school, ensuring it is running efficiently and adhering to the Arkansas Department of Human Services standards. Positively interact and engage with parents, building rapport, establishing trust, answering any inquiries, and demonstrating appreciation for their support of Discovery. Market the Discovery mission and core values to actively enroll students. Assist students and Instructors with exceptional experiential learning by providing them with the educational material they need in an activity-based environment. Build relationships with team members in order to motivate and lead them effectively. Take accountability/ownership of decisions, actions, choices, and outcomes. Build strong working relationships with Bentonville School District leadership along with on-site school administration and SSC teams.
Tasks Performed:
Operations:
Coordinate with team members to ensure student health and safety is a priority at all times. Manage the overall program environment at the school level, paying close attention to detail and effectively managing the flow of students, parents, customers, and team members. Manage staff engagement and ensure instructional staff frequently interact with students to answer questions or provide additional assistance. Watch for and recognize security risks.
Student Enrollment:
Be available and respond promptly to inquiries about Discovery programs. Provide exceptional customer service to potential students and their families through professional conduct and answering any questions.
Parent Relationships:
Make parents feel welcomed on the phone, in person, and through email to foster and maintain a positive, engaging experience. Actively seek to satisfy customers'/parents' needs and requests by providing exceptional customer service and re-aligning expectations to increase customer satisfaction and retention.
People First Leadership:
Conduct appropriate onboarding training for new Instructors. Motivate and encourage Instructors to excel in their role through positive reinforcement and best practices of experiential learning methods. Coach and train Instructors on how to interact with parents and students appropriately and positively. Be a role model for instruction and customer interaction, demonstrating exceptional customer service through effective student instruction and parent/customer interaction. Increase operational efficiencies through new learning and experimentation to improve and engage students in the Discovery experience.
Self-Management:
Monitor and manage self-performance utilizing overall program performance, customer service, enrollment targets, and parent/student satisfaction poll data as success indicators.
