SHIFT LEADER

Preskitt's Pawz N Clawz | Prescott, AZ We're looking for a motivated Shift Leader who loves pets, enjoys learning, and wants to grow with an independent natural pet store. This is a hands-on leadership position with a strong focus on POS operations, inventory accuracy, customer service, and pet nutrition . The right person doesn't need to walk in knowing everything about raw feeding or natural nutrition, but they should be genuinely excited to learn.

THE ROLE

As Shift Leader, you'll help keep the store running smoothly day to day while becoming one of our go-to team members for product and nutrition knowledge. You'll work closely with management on inventory, POS accuracy, merchandising, customer experience, and staff support. You'll also receive ongoing education in natural pet nutrition, including raw, freeze-dried, air-dried and limited-ingredient diets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES POS

& Inventory Become highly proficient with our POS system Maintain accurate product information, pricing and inventory counts Help investigate inventory discrepancies and identify recurring issues Review inventory movement and help identify fast sellers, slow movers and products needing attention Assist with receiving, purchase orders, transfers and inventory counts Help ensure promotions, discounts and pricing are entered and ringing correctly Use POS reporting to help management make better inventory and merchandising decisions Pet Nutrition & Product Knowledge Develop strong knowledge of natural dog and cat nutrition Learn raw, freeze-dried, air-dried, gently cooked and premium kibble feeding Understand ingredients, proteins, supplements and common dietary concerns Help customers compare foods and choose appropriate options for their pets Stay current on the products and brands we carry Participate in vendor training and continuing product education Become a trusted resource for customers interested in improving their pets' nutrition Shift Leadership Confidently open, close and run the store when management is not present Keep the team focused on customers, daily priorities and store standards Support and coach team members when needed Handle customer questions and concerns professionally Ensure registers, cash handling and daily procedures are completed accurately Help maintain a clean, organized and well-merchandised store Lead by example and jump in wherever needed

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for someone who is curious, dependable and takes ownership of their work. Retail or leadership experience is strongly preferred. Experience with POS systems, inventory management, pet retail, raw feeding or animal nutrition is a big plus, but we're willing to teach the right person. Most importantly, you should be someone who wants to learn . There is a lot to know in natural pet nutrition, and we want someone who gets excited about learning why products are different, understanding ingredients, talking with vendors and helping customers make informed choices for their pets.

successful Shift Leader becomes someone the team can rely on to run a great shift, someone management can trust with the operational side of the store, and someone customers recognize as a knowledgeable resource. This position has room to grow as your leadership skills, POS/inventory knowledge and pet nutrition expertise develop.

Pay:

$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
