This isn't a job for someone who wants to sit in the back office. You'll spend your days on the floor—talking to customers, coaching your team, driving the business, solving problems, and making sure the shop feels exactly the way it should. You're a leader, a salesperson, a host, a problem-solver, and the person who sets the tone.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Lead the day-to-day operation of the shop Create an environment where customers feel welcome, understood, and excited to be there Lead from the floor and actively participate in selling Build genuine customer relationships and develop a strong repeat-client base Drive sales and consistently work toward store goals Coach, develop, and motivate the team to deliver an exceptional customer experience Hire and build a team that reflects the personality and spirit of Ghost Forest Set clear expectations and hold the team accountable Create a positive, energetic, and inclusive store culture Manage scheduling, staffing, timekeeping, and daily store coverage Oversee opening and closing procedures and ensure operational standards are followed Maintain visual merchandising, store presentation, and overall shop standards Oversee inventory, shipments, replenishment, and organization Monitor sales performance and key business metrics Identify opportunities to improve sales, customer experience, and store operations Handle customer concerns and team issues with confidence and good judgment Partner with leadership on events, activations, community initiatives, and special projects Communicate store performance, customer feedback, opportunities, and challenges to leadership
WHO YOU ARE
We're not looking for someone who simply knows how to run a retail store. We're looking for someone who knows how to create a great place to work and a great place to shop.
You are:
A natural leader who people want to follow Warm, confident, approachable, and genuinely interested in people A strong salesperson who understands that great selling starts with great relationships Comfortable starting a conversation with anyone Passionate about clothes, style, surf, culture, and community Entrepreneurial and willing to roll up your sleeves Curious, energetic, and always looking for ways to make things better Comfortable making decisions and taking ownership Organized and operationally strong without losing sight of the customer Someone who knows how to coach people—not just manage them Able to give clear feedback and hold people accountable while maintaining a positive culture Detail-oriented and proud of the environment you create Calm, adaptable, and solution-oriented when things get busy Someone who brings good energy to work every day
EXPERIENCE
Retail management experience is preferred, but we're interested in the person behind the résumé. You may have managed a clothing store before. You may have led a team in hospitality, restaurants, hotels, cafés, or another customer-focused environment. What matters most is that you know how to lead people, build relationships, sell, create community, and take ownership. We're much more interested in personality, leadership, confidence, style, and genuine enthusiasm than a perfect résumé.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Success at Ghost Forest isn't just about hitting a sales number. It's about building a team that wants to show up, customers who want to come back, and a shop that feels unmistakably unique. You'll know you're doing a great job when: The team is engaged, confident, and having fun Customers feel welcomed rather than "sold to" Sales goals are consistently being pursued and achieved The shop looks great every day Customers are becoming regulars and relationships are growing The team understands the brand and can tell its story naturally Problems get solved instead of passed along The store feels like a community—not just a retail space
