Position Overview:

We're looking for an experienced Shop Manager with the ability to integrate people, policies, and procedures to meet company goals.

Basic Function:

Coordinate and control the work in the shop to achieve consistent quality with acceptable levels of productivity.

Organizational Relationships:

The position reports to the Production Manager Shop employees report to the position The position closely coordinates with all other departments to meet schedule requirements

Authority:

Has authority to hire, fire shop employees Order required material and supplies per procedure Schedule work within the shop consistent with overall schedule requirements Authorize routine P.M. work in all tools and equipment Set shop procedures consistent with company policy

Responsibilities:

Is responsible for producing quality work at a reasonable labor cost Training new employees Scheduling the shop work flow Review delivery schedule for time/date changes and make adjustments accordingly Proper use and routine maintenance of all equipment and tools Establishing and maintaining control of all material and supplies used ordering as needed per company policy Maintaining a working environment conducive to good moral work practices and safety Hold monthly safety meetings Open shop, start machinery, close and lock shop at end of day Utilize ERP Innergy for production, Shipping, Material inventory, Time card approval Waste / hazardous management scheduling

Duties:

Plan daily schedule for shop employees Supervise work in progress Train employees in proper use of equipment Spot check quality throughout the day Maintain appropriate levels of inventory Order supplies and materials as needed Review all drawings and shop instructions for completeness prior to starting work Verify that all rework has been reviewed by Production manager prior to staring VOC level record keeping Review employees performance Hiring and firing employees
