Manages the activities of the team and is responsible for staffing decisions, training and development, and performance management of the staff. Manages the preparation of bids, proposal content, conformance to Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements, customer liaison, and business partner/vendor coordination. Ensures adherence to protocol for extending quotes and ensures that the costing model is profitable. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Supports the business relationship between assigned customer(s) and the manufacturing facility, ensuring that customer expectations are achieved and/or exceeded. Understands the customer(s) contract terms and their implications for the order process. Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Responsibilities Oversee the end-to-end quotation process, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and timely delivery of quotes to clients. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production management systems, logistics, and demand planning to gather necessary data for quotations. Utilize ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, and inventory management systems to extract relevant data for cost analysis and pricing strategies. Conduct Excel data analysis and forecasting to support demand forecasting analysis and master production scheduling (MPS). Maintain detailed records of all quotations, follow-up activities, and client communications for audit purposes. Support supply chain management by coordinating logistics inventory management and inventory control activities related to quotations. Assist in continuous improvement initiatives by applying lean manufacturing principles to streamline quotation workflows. Qualifications 2-4 years' estimating experience, preferably in an electronic contract manufacturing environment. Up to 2 years supervisory experience, preferably in an electronic manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of electronic component market and general understanding of manufacturing process. Demonstrated ability to manage high volume projects simultaneously while maintaining excellent attention to detail. Ability to understand and interpret specifications, technical drawings, and customer-supplied information for manufacturing projects. Ability to communicate effectively, responsively, and professionally with all levels of client's internal partners, external business partners, and customers. Ability to meet tight deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive cross-functional accountability and motivate the team to achieve department goals. This role requires one to resolve to follow through until satisfactory resolution is achieved.
Time management:
ability to organize and manage multiple priorities. Proficient in using software programs such as Excel, Word, and CRM systems Proficiency with quoting tools such as CalcuQuote and ERP/MPR systems Ability to work under pressure. Customer service experience in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with contract manufacturing quoting tools such as CalcuQuote is preferred. U. S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. Citizens are authorized to access information under our aerospace and defense contracts.Physical demands and work environment:
